Experience
Mr. Hazen is the Managing Partner of the Nevada and San Diego locations of Angulo McGhee, APLC, a multi-state civil litigation and transactional firm. He represents a variety of clients in general liability, aviation, products liability, construction law, and contract law matters.
Mr. Hazen has extensive deposition and mediation experience, having taken hundreds of depositions. He has arbitrated cases to winning verdicts and has argued and won a variety of dispositive motions, achieving wins for clients without the time and expense of trial. Mr. Hazen has particular experience in high exposure complex litigation. Mr. Hazen began work for the firm as an associate in 2011 and has been a partner since 2016. Mr. Hazen’s clients include major product manufacturers, aviation companies, Fortune 500 companies, leading insurance companies, contractors, consultants, and small businesses.
Background
Tyler Hazen, received a Bachelor of Arts with honors from Eastern Washington University in 2008, graduating summa cum laude. Mr. Hazen then received his Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2011. At the University of San Diego School of Law, Mr. Hazen was recognized nationally as a Moot Court oral advocate and brief writer. Mr. Hazen served as the Managing Editor of the San Diego Journal of Climate and Energy Law.
Mr. Hazen authored the law review article “The Effects of Brazilian Agricultural Property Policies and International Pressures on the Soybean Industry,” published in Volume II of the San Diego Journal of Climate and Energy Law. He contributed substantially to the article entitled “Putting Latent-Defect Claims to Rest” In Construction Claims Magazine, Volume 2 edition.
Prior to joining Angulo McGhee in 2011, Mr. Hazen worked with the Labor and Industries Department of the Washington State Attorney General’s Office, the intellectual property law firm Mandour & Associates, and successfully litigated criminal matters with the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office.
